# Directions:

01 - Divide the spinach, pineapple, banana, and apple evenly among 4 large mason jars or airtight containers.
02 - Add 1 tablespoon chia seeds to each jar.
03 - If desired, add ½ tablespoon lime juice, ¼ teaspoon grated ginger, and ½ teaspoon honey or agave syrup to each jar.
04 - Seal jars tightly and refrigerate for up to 4 days.
05 - When ready to serve, pour contents of one jar into a blender. Add ½ cup almond milk and ¼ cup water. Blend until smooth.
06 - If the smoothie is too thick, add additional water or almond milk in small increments until reaching desired consistency.
07 - Pour into a glass and consume immediately.

# Expert Tips:

01 -
  • You actually drink them because they're already portioned and staring at you from the fridge shelf.
  • The tropical sweetness sneaks past your brain while the spinach does the real work you don't taste.
  • Four days of breakfasts prepped in one moment means no morning decisions when you're still half asleep.
02 -
  • Prepare your fruit right before jarring—bananas especially will brown and get watery if you slice them too far ahead, which doesn't ruin the taste but does make the jars look less appealing.
  • The spinach will wilt from the fruit's natural moisture, but that's not a problem; it actually blends smoother and tastes less raw than if you used fresh spinach straight from the bag.
  • These genuinely last four days in the fridge, but by day four the banana flavor dominates everything else, so if you're sensitive to that, drink them by day three.
03 -
  • Freeze your almond milk in ice cube trays the night before—it keeps the smoothie cold and thick without diluting it with actual ice.
  • If you're taking a jar to work, keep it in an insulated lunch bag with an ice pack, and it'll stay fresh enough to blend even mid-afternoon.
