Recipe FAQs
- → What is the best flour for soft rolls?
All-purpose flour works well to create a tender crumb while providing enough structure for soft and fluffy rolls.
- → How long should the dough rise for best results?
Let the dough rise for about 1 hour until doubled in size, then shape and allow a second rise of 30-40 minutes before baking.
- → Can I substitute dairy ingredients?
Yes, whole milk can be replaced with plant-based milk, and butter with vegan margarine for dairy-free variations.
- → Why is butter brushed on before and after baking?
Brushing butter before baking enhances browning and flavor, while applying it afterward keeps the crust soft and adds richness.

Store cooled rolls in an airtight container at room temperature for up to two days, or freeze for longer storage.
